DALLAS, TX — The Next Generation Action Network (NGAN), the largest human and civil rights

organization in North Texas, extends our congratulations to Daniel C. Comeaux on being named the new Police Chief for the City of Dallas. A seasoned veteran with over three decades of experience, Chief Comeaux brings a wealth of leadership, experience, and strategy from his

service as the Special Agent in Charge of the Drug Enforcement Administration’s Houston

Division.

As a committed advocate for justice, peace, and community-centered solutions, NGAN

welcomes this new chapter for the Dallas Police Department and the city we proudly serve. We

remain hopeful that Chief Comeaux’s leadership will advance a stronger spirit of collaboration

between law enforcement and the communities most impacted by systemic injustice.

We are encouraged by the transparent and thoughtful process led by City Manager Kimberly

Bizor Tolbert in selecting both the new police and fire chiefs. We believe this marks a turning

point in restoring public trust and transparency in civic leadership.

NGAN looks forward to building a constructive relationship with Chief Comeaux, one rooted in

mutual respect and the shared goal of addressing the root causes of crime—poverty, inequality,

and lack of access to opportunity. As an organization that has worked to change policing

policies across Texas and has long stood on the front lines of civil rights advocacy, we remain

committed to ensuring that public safety is rooted in equity, dignity, and community investment.

Quote from Minister Dominique Alexander, President and Founder of NGAN:

“This appointment represents a fresh opportunity for the City of Dallas to rebuild

trust between law enforcement and our communities. We stand ready to collaborate

in ways that heal, transform, and ensure every resident feels safe and respected.

We congratulate Chief Comeaux and extend our hand in partnership.”
