Austin, TX – The Next Generation Action Network (NGAN) and Austin Justice Coalition (AJC)

are calling on organizations, community leaders, clergy, and local elected officials to join them at

the Texas State Capitol next Wednesday for Texas Social Justice Advocacy Day.

This day of. action is in response to the continued legislative attacks on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), civil and human rights, women’s rights, and public education funding.

At a time when the Texas Legislature is attempting to dismantle historic progress and advance

policies that disproportionately harm marginalized communities, this advocacy day will send a

powerful message: Texans will not stand by while justice is threatened.

“This is a defining moment for our state. The fight for equity and justice requires all of us to

show up, stand up, and demand better,” said Minister Dominique Alexander, President & CEO

of Next Generation Action Network. “We are calling on every faith leader, activist, and

community champion to be present. If we do not stand together, these attacks will continue

unchecked.”

The day will focus on mobilizing against legislation that seeks to:

  • Undermine DEI initiatives, erasing decades of progress for marginalized communities.

  • Rollback protections for civil and human rights, restricting freedoms and opportunities.

  • Weaken women’s rights, imposing harmful policies that disproportionately affect

    vulnerable populations.

  • Divert critical public school funding to private voucher programs, benefiting the wealthy

at the expense of millions of Texas students.

NGAN and AJC urge all who believe in justice and equality to join them in holding lawmakers

accountable and ensuring that the voices of the people, not just the privileged few, are heard.

Community members, organizations, and leaders interested in attending are encouraged to
